Marrakesh
Marrakesh is probably one of the best known cities in Morocco, located at the base of the Atlas Mountains this city offers a host of sights and attractions for visitors to explore. The Medina (Old City) is always a huge attraction with it’s narrow passages and traditional souks. Souks are markets where you can purchase a host of traditional items. Then there is a choice of museums as well as the Badii Palace which offers magnificent fountains and spectacular architecture. Be sure to stop by the Saadian Tombs, one of the top attractions located at the Kasbah with beautiful mosaics.
Fes
Fes is the second largest city in Morocco and it’s Medina (Old Town) has been listed as a UNESO World Heritage Site. Fes also has a large medina where you can enjoy the electrifying atmosphere, the brightly colored stalls and buy some souvenirs to take home with you. The Merinia Tombs are a popular tourist attraction, you’ll find them on a hill overlooking the city offering panoramic views. Fes is also home to a choice of museums where you can soak up the history and culture of the area including the Musee Dar El Batha, which is set in an 1873 palace with twelve galleries and the Musee des Armes which is sixteen galleries filled with over 8,000 weapons from around the world.
Chefchaouen
Chefchaoeun is a must when visiting Morocco, this area is located in the north west of Morocco in the Rif Mountains and offers the most beautiful town, one that has become a very popular tourist destination. This town is filled with white washed buildings which makes it so stunning along with a host of shops, cafe’s and sights.
In Chefchaouen be sure to stop at the Plaza Uta El Hammam which is located in the Medina, this square is filled with cafes and restaurants where you can sit back and relax. Also in the Medina you will find the Kasbah and Grand Mosque, both offering a chance to soak up the magnificent architecture.
